If you aren\u2019t using a CRM, you are light years behind your competition in regards to the amount of knowledge you have on your customers and your interactions<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> with them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Cloud CRM presents distinct advantages versus the traditional model of setting the system up in an onsite data centre. Technology research firm <a href=\"http:\/\/www.out-law.com\/en\/articles\/2014\/may\/crm-systems-to-be-predominantly-cloud-based-in-2015-predicts-gartner\/\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Gartner predicts<\/span><\/a> that 50% of CRM tools will most likely be delivered by cloud in 2015 and by 2025, 85% of CRM offerings will be hosted in the cloud.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Angus McFayden, a technology law expert affiliated with Out-law.com <a href=\"http:\/\/www.out-law.com\/en\/articles\/2014\/may\/crm-systems-to-be-predominantly-cloud-based-in-2015-predicts-gartner\/\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">says,<\/span><\/a> \u201c<em>The move towards cloud based solutions is predominantly being driven by cost effectiveness and the flexibility of those solutions.<\/em>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">McFayden goes on to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.out-law.com\/en\/articles\/2014\/may\/crm-systems-to-be-predominantly-cloud-based-in-2015-predicts-gartner\/\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">say,<\/span><\/a> \u201c<em>As a result, businesses are able to deliver on their strategies a lot quicker than if they had to build their own CRM system. It also removes the hassle of hosting and maintaining infrastructure in-house<\/em>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">CRM systems, much like traditional HR systems, are prime candidates for cloud migration. Many businesses may resort to a hybrid cloud computing model where customer data resides in an onsite data centre while the applications are being run in the public cloud.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Other businesses may prefer to keep their CRM system in a private cloud altogether. Although this is a more costly solution, some businesses have internal guidelines that will require them to keep customer data onsite.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">CRM systems are expected to thrive within the next ten years. Salesforce, the de facto leader in cloud CRM, recently partnered with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cloudwedge.com\/2014-microsoft-salesforce-rumored-to-be-in-partnership-talks\/\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Microsoft Azure.<\/span><\/a> These partnerships alongside Gartner\u2019s predictions depict a clear, upward trend in regards to cloud CRM.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">By 2025, Salesforce and others will likely dominate the market.
