Amazon recoils, Microsoft joins the fight

After Google announced its drastic price reduction intention, in order to avoid the mass enticement, Amazon Web Services a day later similar information has released.

Andy Jassy, AWS (Amazon Web Services) senior vice president at an event in San Fransisco explained that lowering prices is not new for AWS, they do it on regular basis, with this is now their 42.reduction in the row. Amazon’s S3 storage cloud will be decreased up to 65%.

Google made a similar announcement one day before Amazon, where they betrayed to reduce prices by 68 percent in case of cloud storage, even in the case of some products will use 85 percent price reduction.

The overall effect is that Google’s prices are in practice slightly cheaper than AWS’s, not to mention the search giant’s announcement, where developers get a special discount with heavy server usage. This compares favourably with Amazon’s “reserved instances”, which offers a discount long-term but requires an upront fee.

We haven’t yet processed the Amazon’s announcement, one day later Microsoft has already taken the required step, declared, that from 1 of May reduces its cloud service prices from 35 to 65%, and their prices will be adjusted to Amazon’s prices.

So a healthy price war continues.
